Walmart Pudgy Penguins - Walmart has embraced the intersection of physical retail and digital innovation by introducing the Pudgy Penguins toyline in 2,000 of its stores. Each toy in the Pudgy Penguins line serves as a key to access 'Pudgy World,' an open-world digital social platform. This platform, powered by the zkSync Era blockchain, allows users to build and personalize their "Forever Pudgy" characters, play mini-games, and interact with others in a digital environment.
Lufthansa launched the "Uptrip" loyalty program, transforming travel experiences into collectible digital cards, each representing a unique NFT on Polygon. Users can scan boarding passes, mint NFT trading cards, and trade them with fellow travelers.
Nike introduced the "Tinaj" as part of its digital community platform, Dot Swoosh. The campaign included a T-shirt collection featuring the slogan "This Is Not A JPEG" and the Air Force 1 Low 'Tinaj' sneaker. This was the first physical sneaker iteration under the .Swoosh platform, emphasizing Nike's blend of digital and physical fashion elements in Web3.
Ticketmaster introduced a new feature for token-gated ticket sales, allowing artists to offer exclusive access to concert tickets for holders of specific NFTs. This feature was developed in collaboration with the metal band Avenged Sevenfold and their Deathbats Club NFT collection. Members of this club were given early access to tickets for the band's tour.
PayPal introduced stablecoin PYUSD, which is fully backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. treasuries, and similar cash equivalents. Eligible U.S. PayPal users can transfer PYUSD between PayPal and compatible external wallets, send person-to-person payments using PYUSD, use PYUSD for funding purchases at checkout, and convert cryptocurrencies to and from PYUSD.
